The sound quality is fine and I've never had an issue with the drivers or the unit cutting out, so I give them props there, but because of the shoddy build quality I would never recommend this interface to anyone else. Hum or noise heard in your monitor speakers or captured on your recordings can sometimes be caused by grounding issues. Again, this is only the Scarlett 18i20, which I know is their lower end stuff, and I can't speak for any of the other models, which I know FocusRite has a very good reputation in the industry. I have a Scarlett 2i4, not 2i2, but I am getting the same issues as the original poster and have been for about the past 8-9 months. I know FocusRite has a pretty good reputation, but I've been thoroughly unimpressed with my 18i20.
